Kick-Off Meeting
Abstract
On July 27 and 28, 2023, experts and visionaries from the medical and technological world gathered at the SmartHospital.NRW showroom in Essen to celebrate the launch of a groundbreaking project: the Open Medical Interference (OMI). This project is funded by the BMBF as part of the second funding phase of the initiative (MII) and has a clear goal in mind - the optimal use of artificial intelligence (AI) via remote services in the medical field. One of the sessions presented, entitled “An exemplary OMI application scenario”, illustrated how OMI can be used in practice. A real-life scenario was used to show how physicians and medical staff can benefit from remote AI services to obtain faster and more accurate diagnoses. The “Specification of the OMI Protocol” was an important focus to ensure that data exchange and communication between AI services can be seamless and secure. This protocol lays the foundations for efficient collaboration between different AI technologies.
